Baptism
Baptism are held 2nd and 4th Sunday of the month at 1:00pm. Parents are required to take a Pre-Baptism class. Dates for the classes are listed in the bulletin.
 
First Holy Communion/(Eucharist)

Preparation for reception of the sacrament is normally offered in the child's 7th year or the second grade. A prerequisite is participation in the parish school religion program, another Catholic School program or our parish religious education program for children who attend other schools. The child must have been in one of the above programs for one full year before becoming part of the First Communion Preparation Program which is preceded by preparation for First Reconciliation in the same year. The program includes a Family Gathering and special information for parents whose eldest child is receiving Eucharist for the first time. The Sacrament of First Holy Communion is traditionally celebrated on the first Saturday in May. For additional information, contact IHM’s Religious Education Office at (302) 762-5550. First Reconciliation/Confession

Preparation for First Reconciliation usually begins in the second grade prior to the preparation for First Holy Communion. First Reconciliation Preparation usually includes a Family Gathering and information for those parents whose eldest child is receiving Reconciliation for the first time. The Sacrament of First Reconciliation is traditionally celebrated on the first Friday evening in December.Individuals may celebrate the sacrament on Saturday evening between 4:00 and 4:45 p.m. in the Reconciliation Room which is located in the Chapel. The parish also schedules special Reconciliation Services during Advent and Lent. In addition, parishioners may visit the Rectory to inquire about the availability of a priest or schedule an appointment directly with one of the parish priests. Sacrament of the Sick
Great care and concern should be taken to see that those of the faithful whose health is seriously impaired by sickness or old age receive this sacrament. The sacrament may be repeated if the sick person recovers after being anointed and then falls ill or if during the same illness the person's condition becomes more serious. To request the sacrament, call the rectory or speak with a priest at (302) 764-0357.
 
Marriage
Couples need to meet with a priest one year before the wedding date to begin marriage preparation. Preparations will include participation in a diocesan sponsored Pre-Cana or Engaged Encounter Program and meetings with the priest and meetings with a parish sponsored couple. Call the Rectory for an appointment at (302) 764-0357. Our Director of Music, should be contacted at least 2-3 months prior to the wedding.
 
Confirmation
Preparation for the reception of the sacrament is normally offered in the young person's 12th year or the 8th grade. A prerequisite is participation in the parish school religion program, another Catholic school program, or our parish religious education program for children who attend other schools. The young person must have been in one of the above programs for one full year before becoming part of the Confirmation Preparation Program. The program includes sessions for parents and sponsors. Information will be sent home through our school or religious education programs at the appropriate times, or contact our Office for Religious Education (302) 762-5550.
